Components of a Finishing System

Most finishing systems begin with a material preparation stage. This typically includes a parts washer or a blast booth to properly clean and prepare surfaces before coating.

If a washer is the first stage in the process, a dry-off oven is usually recommended next to quickly remove moisture and prepare parts for either liquid paint or powder coating.

Typical System Breakdown

A standard finishing system may include the following components:

Blast Booth
Washer
Dry-Off Oven
Liquid Paint Booth or Powder Coating Booth
Prime Booth and Separate Topcoat Booth
Final Cure Oven(s)

In many systems, separate ovens are used for the priming and topcoat stages to ensure proper curing and optimal finish quality.
